Today my students come visit after five years and 3 out of 4 of them are taller than me!!!! Wonderful seeing Elvis, Brooks, Georgia and Delilah, and amazing walking around town at a pace I could barely keep up with. And I got to teeter-totter!

the best part of the day was frolicking in the rain and the mud the hardest part was enrolling the children in cleaning up their ginormous mess in the words of Sara, 'I didn't lose my bananas!' (well, maybe some of them) next week: Tuesday: Pajama Day (bring pajamas, any stuffies, a book or game to share) Wednesay: Beach Day (we'll just pretend it's summer again. get creative). Thursday: Dress-up Day Friday: Dress-up Day 2

With Weslee and Honey skipping school today and Eloise late after an appointment, today was the mellow day I was dreaming of and hoping for. (As mellow as can be with those high energy cousins!) And seems we got one more beautiful day of blue skies and color explosion.

We did so much today! And I took too many pictures, but oh well. 5 miles, no nap....Promontory Point, Waterboard Park, the Madison Cemetary, The Eastham Playground (where Tracy filled our water bottle!!!), and they were amazing. Observing, climbing, finding, and getting a nice big dose of Beautiful Nature (Sorry if they fall apart tonight).

Today was one of the quietest, calmest, most cooperative days ever. Perhaps it was because there was a visiting family in the morning (but that certainly doesn't always equate with mellow), and then as soon as we left to go collecting around the neighborhood we had to turn around and come back while my licensor, Adindu, did his 'thing'. I'm not exactly sure what that is, but it involves checking lots of boxes and confirming that I have various things posted and so on and so

Opal challenged me to be quiet on our walk to LaTourette. So we were. It felt like a quiet day to me...hazy drizzle in the morning...all but Ezra and Azrael taking naps (to my great surprise)...it was wonderful to have Ezra visit us. We miss her. And she and Azrael enjoyed the calm one-on-one of quiet together activities. A few words of explanation: there was a visiting family in case you wonder about the random kid going up the loft slide our neighbor, the one with the dogs

Eloise... Eloise is a force of nature. She's competent and capable, She likes to do it by herself! As a 2 year old, she asked for privacy in the loo! Now that she's 3, she locks the door She's a lover of insects... Ladybugs, worms, spiders She loves to push around interesting objects in the strollers She's independent and enjoys her own company And Wes-se-leeee's too She can walk miles and miles But not too fast She's a water girl, so happy in the pool Or pouring, mixing, sti

Our theme today was 'beauty'. And we found it everywhere. Especially in the autumn trees. I'm never quite sure kids have an aesthetic sense (if you go collecting leaves or rocks, they seem to just randomly grab whatever sometimes, or very carefully pick out something for mysterious qualities that cannot be inferred by myself), but these adventurers pointed out 'beauty' everywhere we went, and saw it many of the same places that I did. (And they discovered the landing pad of

Happy Rivendell Birthday to Daniel!!! 3!!! I think I was more excited that he was, but it's hard to tell. He got to make meal choices (waffles and quesadillas), and I chose activities I thought he would like best for this day. Daniel always likes to paint, and he likes water- mixing, pouring, spilling...you all saw them splashing like ducks in bin this morning, but amazingly, the floor is actually not soaked, and nobody even wanted to change their clothes.
