Black lights work by emitting ultraviolet (UV) light, specifically UVA, which is invisible to the human eye. This UVA light strikes certain objects that contain fluorescent materials, causing their electrons to become "excited". When these electrons return to their normal state, they release energy in the form of visible light, making the objects glow.
We had a lot of fun with black light flashlights. And with Syd.
And, this is even weirder: all of these little angels took a nap today.
