October 27th
On this fine day in the last week of October, a week with Halloween and Day of the Dead, and a belated birthday celebration for Eloise...I was conjuring up a 'Preschool Day Scale', in which we consider different aspects and rank them on a scale from one to ten:
volume: 7
energy: 8
kindness: 8
creativity: 8
potty talk: 8
peskiness: 8
fun: 10
speed: 8
does that give you a feeling of our day? what else should I consider?
the kids had a wonderful time playing in the boxes, adding more and more toys and materials. I suggested several times along the way that they already had way more than they would want to clean up, and that they would indeed be expected to clean up....well, as you probably suspect, clean up was painful. Fortunately I had Eloise's chocolate birthday donuts to bribe them with!
Hold them accountable for their chaos! They are capable, strong, and have more energy than we do!
