Cinco de Mayo is a strange little celebration commemorating a little-known minor battle in 1862 in which the Mexicans beat the French, but it has become a celebration of Mexican culture (at least the tequilas and tacos). So in preschool we acknowledged it by...

making Mexican muffins

eating taquitos and quesadillas for lunch

listening to a variety of Mexican music all day

learning a few words and counting

and washing my car.

I'm always happy to be back in preschool after the weekend. I hope next year we catch May the Force be with you 4th on a school day.

(Note that we have decided Thursday is Pajama Day).
