I steered us all to Eastham for a morning picnic only to find the gates locked!!!!! I was quietly trying to come up with the best Plan B (as children yelled their suggestions and insisted we should climb the fence), when Pete the maintenance man took pity on us and let us in. Whew! The buildings will open next week to house an alternative High School designed for kids who just don't fit into the box for one reason or another. A good time was had by all, and Clara bid so long to the Clara Tree. I will admit that I shamefully used the promise of Jolly Ranchers to ensure safe (quiet) subdued behaviour at least until we crossed Mollala.

Subdued they are not!

Malcolm, Clara and Hal did take naps today.
