Happy (belated) Earth Day. We try to celebrate our home planet every day, but who can resist an opportunity to be extra extra mindful and appreciative? And the best place around here to connect with the earth is Atkinson Park, what we call the tree park, where we picnicked, made nature art, collected trash, tried our hand at making some rubbings of bark and leaves (and Opal's face!), and read The Giving Tree (sniff, sniff). I started the 100 tree hug challenge, but only got to 35 myself, because after a bunch of initial quick treevhugs, I got more mindful and contemplative.
And then they all napped.
