Happy birthday, Ezra. We miss you.

The other special thing about this Friday, was watching a team of tree surgeons take down a maple tree a block from LaTourette. Azrael was particularly excited, but it held all of our attention for a good 20 minutes. The tree is pushing up the sidewalk with it's roots, and creating a hazard. One of the arborists, Xavier, came to chat with us and to show us all his gear. He had a lot of gear and he showed us everything. Ultimately I think he was a little more interested in his gear than the preschoolers were, but he did a good job holding their attention, letting them pull on his ropes, gave us each earplugs and so forth, and it was SO KIND of him to come over and chat. What a fabulous hands-on learning activity.
