The start of a new school year, with a different mix of characters. Some things stay the same, some things are different. Right now everyone is sleeping, except for Hazel, but she doesn't seem to want to come out to play! That hasn't happened in a while!

The cast of characters:

Hazel (4): once the very youngest, now the oldest (on Tuesdays). Usually fearless and independent, today she didn't want to go outside, but did it anyway. That's brave. She helped her friends put on their shoes, and can be counted on at clean-up time, and is usually the first to start a game of 'family'.

Skylar (3): Skylar is one day older than Honey. She came for a month last Spring, and now she's back. She's a kid with few words, and yet she communicates quite clearly, and I think she is as happy to be back as we are to have her back. She loves the animals. And she loves to hug.

Honey (3): two-skinned knees today, but she keeps on going. Honey always comes in with a smile, and pretty much keeps it on all day. Lover of art and dress-up, she is also in the 'family game'.

Weslee (3): I think that Weslee is feeling more confident these days, and more comfortable voicing his opinions. He seems to have more and more! Lover of blue and animals, he wish he could be the fish feeder every day.

Daniel: (2) After one day, I can say he's got a great smile and laugh. He likes the color black, he instinctively cleans up after himself and is learning the rules faster than I can teach them. Danny likes to explore, to throw balls, and he really likes to wash his hands.

Eloise: (2) Still the youngest, but maturing by the day. She spends a lot of time banging around the kitchens inside and out, and keeps herself busy with just about everything. She is often seen pushing a stroller with something unusual in it, like a pair of binoculars or a treasure box.
