What a harmonious, industrious, exciting, peaceful and productive day!
Brooks, Elvis and Vienna had a complex game all day in the Fairy House (I imagine they call it something else), with an office, the train set (?), some magna tiles, and so much more. But you'll have to ask them about it.
Delilah created a bird feeder and a squirrel feeder and got used to the low-temp glue gun.
Georgia designed and sewed herself a little shoulder purse, with a finger-knitted shoulder strap.
Everybody came to the art table and drew a tile for a collaborative project.
Bugs, bugs, bugs inspired passion yet again in the yard. They collected: roly-polys, leaf-jumpers, spiders, centipedes, worms, earwigs (isn't that a horrible name for an insect?), ants, and I'm probably forgetting a few.
We had our afternoon snack at Atkinson's Park, an entirely underutilized park over behind the football field. Delilah and Vienna became friends with a very large centipede. Vienna took it home to find a happy home in her garden...
Did I tell you about the pom-pom food challenge bottle? I introduce a food each meal, and if they eat it, they get to put a pom-pom in the bottle and when the bottle is full, we will have a treat to be agreed upon. (So far an ice cream cake and a trip to Dairy Queen have been proposed). Todays foods were: either a little applesauce container or two slices of an orange. Only two kids got pom-poms. At lunch the food was half a piece of celery with peanut butter on it. Zero kids got pom-poms. It's going to take a long time to fill that bottle!!!
May tomorrow be as awesome.
